VOLUNTEER
Buffalo-Niagara LGBTQ History Project volunteer meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm, at Burning Books (420 Connecticut Street, Buffalo). Volunteers of all backgrounds and skill levels with an interest in local LGBTQ history are welcome to join.
The History Project always needs volunteers for the following tasks:
- Archive research
- Conducting interviews with LGBTQ community members
- Transcribing interviews
- Cartography
- Graphic design
- Videography
- Audio and video editing
- Event planning
- Walking tour docents
- Publicity
- Tabling and event hosting
You don’t need to be an expert in any of these fields to join us, but you need to be willing to learn, and willing to dedicate a few hours each month to working on the History Project.
